    alive again!

went for my first rvp meeting conducted by luke. was quite surprise to see how fast it ended. cos luke was telling me it took at least 1 hour, but in actual fact he did it in less than an hour. lol. of cos i am happy that it ended early, cos it only means i can go home early.
alright, thru the meeting, there are several upcoming events that we need to take note of. hopefully, the volunteers are going to be able to make it.

after that, we just went to subway for my dinner. kit was telling us that there is tradition of E-the-lon-ter's PD from clementi. E4 was fred and E5 was kit. kit want the tradition to continue. and jason immediately eyes me. guess if i do go back for E6,it will also be as councilor. PD has never cross my mind. firstly i don't see myself committed enough to do it. secondly, i am just plain lazy. thirdly, i don't think i can do it since i don't even know how OC works. anyway, it's all just talk.

i miss camps. Not the freshmen camp but army camp. lol. don't know why, but just have the feeling of going back and conduct one field camp. make the recs suffer and cry for help. LOL. nah, just joking. i am not a sadist. but seriously, i do miss the fun of field camp. doing things i want. planning it like how i want it. guess the best field camp i have conducted was for the SAR. a tight schedule and i twist it around my fingers with ease. seeing the satisfying smiles on Both my superiors and men's face pleased me. Guess it is a bond that will never be experienced again unless i go for Atec during ICT. i miss range too. though always end up being chief safety. i always feel delighted that after so many shots and grenade throws, everyone is still alive.

the ultimate miss is the bonding session with your own platoon. 40- 50 mens under you. listening to your nagging, looking up to you for motivation when the going get tough, hearing them curse and swear as you forced them to run, singing along with them happily during route marches, taking care of them when they are sick and vice versa. when they stand out there on the parade square proud of themselves after a 3 month conversion from civilian to soldier. the feeling is hard to describe. what's more, when the parents came over and pat your shoulder for the job done, you just feel everything is going on right. strangers to men, men to friends.
standing on safti parade square after 38 wks doesn't make one a good leader but give one a starting ground. As told, the journey only begins after 38 wks and it does not end in the one year service but will continue a lifetime.
