Rat Year day 2

Day 2 The second day of the Chinese New Year is for married daughters to visit their birth parents. Traditionally, daughters who have been married may not have the opportunity to visit their birth families often.
It is considered bad luck and disrespectful for men if their wives visit her parents on the first day of the New Year as this would give the impression that she could not wait to “run back” to her parents.

ok. i was browsing thru the net in my boredom and this is what i got. chinese traditions, wonder how many people really know about them. most children only know that this period is for collecting hong bao and eating goodies but i bet most dunnoe what each day signify.
better stop or it make me sound 老古董.

speaking of hong bao, i didn't go relative visiting this year but i still got 3 hong bao. lol. surprise sia. one from my dad as usual, one from my mum (so funny, she like only give alternate yr cos i dun remember her giving last yr) and the last one from my bro. very pai sei to take from him and i didn't know that he should give. haha.

my da nian chu yi is well spent. i did my lab report, did my english work and watch tons of movies. heard from a few people that doing work and studying on chu yi is bad but i dun believe. haha. what i believe is these 4 days is for me to catch up with i miss out on. a welcome break actually to let me study at my own pace.

later going to continue a bit of work before meeting the DARE guys for dinner and river hongbao.
either going out with friends or doing work or nuaing at home. that the only few things i can do during such a festival. bro is out with lau po. so i no choice got to be the "kuai kia" and stay home. damn sian actually. how i wish more people ae free to go out with me on this festive. booo.. nvm i should not think of the negative and should think of the positive.

time to go study loh.
