"cos i won't be seeing you again forever after this session", i said with a grin on my face to that poor little boy. he came over and hug, " NO loh, you coming back in december. I don't care."

it is this simple gesture that really brighten up the rest of the evening :D and make me feel so sad to have a last session.

"you never praise me before"

this set me thinking. yes, i had not praise anyone openly for a very long time. ever since that time when i tell 0307 during the intro speech on their first day in the island.

"Welcome to platoon 1. I am Lta SIOW. You guys just need to know that you can come to me if you have any problem but what i am going to say next is more important. I had been a motivator for the past 3 batches. So for you guys, i am going to change and be your worst nightmare. Don't expect me to say something good about you guys no matter how good you really are. Cos i don't believe in motivating people anymore."

with that opening speech and that sentence where i refuse to praise ppl anymore, it set the trend for the rest of the years. btw, the batch was the best ever i had even though i never really praise them openly. it set such a good standard that i thought a reverse method of telling ppl they sucks even though they work well will make them work even harder.

the past 2 yrs with marcus was the same, even though he make slight improvement, i will scold him as well. today, being the last session and after hearing what he said, i guess i am wrong. its time to change. So i did praise him for the first time hoping it might work some wonder in making him all hype up for his last and most confident paper tml. Hopefully.

"eh, what you wan for your bday? and what you wan to do?"

"surprise me!! HAHA!!"

the word "surprise" give me a super valid reason to do what i wanted to :D
last yr was a very bad surprise though it did succeed a little. So this time round i have to double sure it works.

we meet up at 615, and camp in Shokudo, awaiting his arrival.
1 hr later he came. as he was super blur and unknown to him that we are there to surprise him, he just walk past us without seeing us. after a second time, we decided to shout "surprise" and he finally saw us. the shocked face was all captured in video.
first surprise succeed :D
next was the "celebration" given that there is surprise 2 coming up, i decided to make it as real as possible for the first. bought a mini cake for him and he will think it is over, but all is just the beginning as HX gave him his present which consist of a pacifier sweet, baby cap and napkin. with the "custume" and a balloon in his hand, we head to the next stop. along the way, we see the different expression of passerby, and captured everything that the "little baby" did on video, including whining, baby hoping.
soon we reach esplanade roof terrace and surprise 2 begins. there, phang and eve got ready the real bday cake and presented to him. Shocked once more but i guess after the whole journey of embarrassment, the shock factor had reduced a lot. Finally surprise 2 succeed too :DD
With that, the whole thing was done and dusted.

i shall just say i plan everything, including the sabo, since no one wanted to have anything to do with it. So wil2, so sorry i sabo u eh, but hope u enjoyed it. your 21st was an embarrassment at fish and co, your 22nd was a surprise at swensens. AND NOW, ur 23rd. combination of both. GREAT, isn't it :P anyway, hope you have a good time.

days passed faster and faster with every moment gone. i guess i am feeling a bit burn out. to think that i had not really pushed hard this sem make me realised the special term was a wrong move as i felt i had not really have a good rest in the hols.

i really hope for the dec hols to come fast. Not that i will have a good holiday during that time as i have FYP to worry abt, but still a few days of "No Books, No Notes, No Project" in my mind should be able to bring back the active me.
