watched "trail of the panda". a china production which was finance by Disney. initially wanted to catch it in the cinema when it was released but somehow or rather missed it. Anyway, was glad that it was available online and so managed to see it finally.

if there is a show that is really touching/heartwarming, i guess it will be this good show. Not an action packed, thriller or scary or the romance type. One which was produced definitely without the intention of being a box office show but nevertheless, this is one great one as the show touches me and the panda is so cute :D

START!

the show begin with a man narrating his story when he was 12. staying in a village and losing both parents in a fire, he was been brought up by a kind village man. Nicely put is kind, but in actual fact, is to get free labour. Anyway, one day a man from the city came and the man from the village told him about the sighting of a female panda with 2 youngs. the plan was to capture one alive. Soon after, they set off and the ambush to wait for one young panda to wander away from the parent begins. When the young finally wander off far enough, the 2 men go after it. Surprisingly, the panda managed to run fast enough from the pursuit of the dogs and men. However, it reaches the edge of the cliff and drop off while trying its best to hang onto a overhanging branch. falling into the river below, it was washed away with the river flow. the men pursuits along the riverside and continue giving chase to the panda which survive the fall. the panda ran and entered into a territory of monkeys which begin to attack it, only to stop when seeing the panda running off. it hid itself onto of a tree top and the men managed to come below it without realising it was just above them. the rain which came at the right time had also wash off any possible scent from the panda which might allow the dogs to know its whereabt. With that, the lucky young panda survive the pursuit but was left all alone in the darkness of the forest in the rain.a thunder came and the poor panda failed to grip on tight to the branches and with fear from the loud sound, it fall off the tree and was injured. the boy who was out the next day to collect branches for fire, found the injured panda. seeing it still unconcious, he used his basket and kept captive the panda while placing leaves and grass all over it to camoflauge it. he ran back home and was in time to see the 2 men going out for the hunt again. with no time to waste, he grabbed towels and rush back to the cage to save the panda and brought it back to the backyard, just before the arrival of the men. speaking for the first time since the death of his parents, the boy told his wish to be the panda's friend.
the 2 men decided to give up on that young and decided to go out into the hill in search of another panda. With the men away and the boy constant care and patience, the panda was finally concious. seeing how a cow feed the young with milk, the boy went to get bamboo for the panda and thus named it 胖胖. the panda refused to eat the bamboo, the boy rushed home and get cooked potatoes. still refusing, the boy went back and get sweet potatoes, rice, and in the end, with everything in his house. risking his life, the boy went to get fresh milk from a herd of cow, still the panda refused to eat. using his last resort, the boy mixed bamboo leaves with milk and finally the panda drank it.taking over the role of a parent, the boy teaches the panda how to climb tree which he failed. pretending to leave the panda, the panda climb all the way to the top of the tree. next, he teaches it how to chase after a stick he throw which he failed again. fed up, the boy feint dead and the panda ran over to express its concern. the men returned and notice the boy disappearing. the village man went to the backyard and saw the panda. With greed in his eyes, he told the city man of the panda whereabout and thus the captive of the panda. after a night of celebration with wine, the city man was dead asleep while the village man pretend to be asleep when the boy set the panda free. in the morning, the men discovered the disappearing of the boy and the panda and gave chase. depite being tired and having no energy left to carry the panda to its habitat, the boy never give up. In the end, it manage to return to the side of the mother panda. All this was seen by the men whom had stop chasing, as the city man who was a scientist said," we want to capture the panda, but only those in need. Not those which the parents are still able to look after them."
the story end with the boy growing up and set up a protection center for pandas.
