was listening to the radio on the way to sch and guess what, now on the air is full of national day songs. it only mean one thing to me though, the day is getting nearer and nearer :)
anyway, heard the new NDP song for 2009 but sad to say, it is another disappointment. ever since the '98 song of "HOME", there is really none that can really touch the heart of mine. though a few came close like "where i belong" in 2001, the rest are really quite a disappointment. :(
here is a list of songs since 1998 when SG begin to have more hippy and modern NDP songs.
1998- Home
1999- Together
2000- Shine on me
2001- Where I belong
2002- We will get there
2003- One united people
2004- Home (remixed)
2005- Reach out for the skies
2006- My island home
2007- There's no place I'll rather be
2008- Shine for Singapore
2009- What do you see
in between there are still 2 nice community songs that had being composed. and out of the 2, i still like this the most. "sing our wish". it really brought out the youthfulness of sg cos it is sang by the kids, and best of all is it have all the 4 languages which symbolise our local community :)
it is also the song for racial harmony day and with it being yesterday, it just add an extra meaning to it :)
sing our wishes, sing our wishes
counting our wishes with joy (pride)
counting down the day the nation sing together our national songs :)
