he feel disappointed with himself. but on a hindsight, he think he did well. considering, he didn't work for it at all. Now he set himself a new target. to try to get the elusive gold in a month, especially when it seems so close yet so far.
One thing to learn however, is that he has a good fitness base. despite not really training for it, he did practically quite well. that is a tremendous morale booster.
while running hard during that 6 long rounds, several thoughts went through his mind. he saw that red figure with the yellow OCS words staring back at him. He got that shirt too but feel too ashamed to wear it cos he feel that he don't deserve wearing it unless he hit a consistent sub 10 timing. At the end of the run, one thought went deep down inside, he will NOT wear that red singlet until the day he hit a consistent sub 10. And he know he like wearing that red singlet since it make him feel comfortable. work hard, is all he can say to himself now.
A little chat with 'mickey mouse' Javier and it shook him awake. "the more you run, the more addictive it gets", now the true meaning had sank into his mind and he shall work towards it. A year long project starting with SBR '09 (21km), Standard Chart '09 (42km) and finally the "graduation run" Sundown '10 (84km).
how true his words are, it shall be seen along the way but for now, he loved the sweat flowing down his face and neck, the feel of wind blowing against his face as he run along.
"slack is the new shag", that what jonathan phang mention to him. But a renewed energy make him think that "pain is temporary".
Anyway, why is he writing in a third person perspective? this is because, research shown that by writing in a third person view, it take away some of the self consciousness. it can make one see if s/he is emphasising positive or negative attributes and understand how others see him/her. From there, changes can be done.
he wanted changes, which is why he trying this out, to make sure such theory work, and of cos to ensure he change for the better.
lastly, he really think it is difficult to write as a third person as it make him think through before putting his thoughts down. And it will not be always that the entries are in third person but perhaps 1 every 5 posts.
A renewed belief in himself in term of fitness, and it make him confident. :)
