"ORD loh!" that is the first thing i saw on my phone when i woke up just now. the guys of 41 SAR had ORDed after 2 yrs. And they just sms me to let me know.
This bunch of guys is very special. Ah Bengs they all are, came in from different background and mixed together as a platoon. I still remember the first day i see them, fear does strike me as Tattoo are all over some of their body. Nv see anyone more Beng than them. However, the first time i spoke to the whole platoon, their response make my fear run off as it seems like Ah Bengs can be like any of us.
"why you green colour one?" referring to my beret. being the only infantry officer in the company of armour is nv easy. Inside the office, the older specs tends to draw line as they feel that they are more superior than infantry. Refusing to give in to a bunch of "blacks"(headdress i mean), i used my difference as a motivation to spur the platoon on. 1 mths down the road, after i left my post as PC and undertook Coy 2ic. these same grp of guys said," changed liao loh. become coy 2ic dun wan mix with us liao. leave us to die loh." It was kind of hilarious to hear this.
16km route march! their new PC lead them in a song which somehow show how superior armor are as compared to infantry. The same grp of guys refused to sing along.
CO's evening. As my tour is coming to an end, a letter of appreciation was presented. Long applause and standing ovation by the coy as i get mine. Something which flashes in my head whenever i see this peeps. It just show how much they appreciate the efforts.
Men dun cry, but they do tears in saddness. the tears that drop when they saw me left the camp with my duffle bag make me stunned. Nv expected such an reaction from them.

HAWK coy platoon 11 came a long way! though i only played a small part in their 2 yrs of army life. The mentality, strength, resilient they showed throughout make me respect them in every way.
All the best in whatever you guys do in the future. I know some of you do read my blog. LOL!! see, i nv write bad stuff about you all! wahah.
