taking my short little break before i battle on in this torturing moment.
just finish my C.V and i guess it's been 2 years since i did one so all thanks to Calvin for the job lobang.
read jin's blog on his sispec days. i guess i just take some time to reflect on mine since i am taking my break.
as a cadet, we always experience some hair raising experience. by this i mean having an instructor shouting at you right in your face. i don't remember anyone who never get this treatment and i got to say mine came frequently (that's to show how F**k Up i am as a cadet.) first was my first ever appointment as exercise sect com and it came after my first experience of not sleeping for 2 nights and being the last of the 3 back to back exercise commander. no one is moving as all are tired and i just say i failed the mission while having my first hair rising experience by my section instructor.
My second came not long after. In a live firing range. this i got to admit even up till now, it is not my fault. we were firing and somehow the person next to me just run in front to my line of fire instead of running straight and i just continue firing missing him by centimeters. this time round the 2 big crabs came yelling at me, "STUPID IDIOT". suddenly i do feel stupid for a moment. this is not just my first close shave of killing someone but also my first close shave of getting out of course.
Fortunately, this is the last time i got the yelling as subsequently i stay rather low profile, only hoping to complete or should i say counting day by day. however this low period continue and get to a point till i ask myself what am i doing wasting my time training. i should just get the hell out and enjoy my life as a clerk or store man. this thought just get on and finally disappear as the day of commissioning approaches.
being a commander myself, i got to be laughing at the number of times i held the appointment for safety officer. Guess this is just coincidental, but somehow i believe my 4 live range's chief safety officer role means much more to me since missing shooting someone by cm is not something everyone got experience. i also do give hair rising experience to recs and sadly this result in 3 of them crying. wondering why didn't i cry when i got mine. maybe if i did cry, i won't be wearing that bar on my shoulder.
was thinking through the officer creed during one of my "spacing out" time. and here it is-

was thinking through the officer creed during one of my "spacing out" time. and here it is-
I am an officer of the Singapore Armed Forces.
My duty is to Lead, to Excel and to Overcome.
I lead my men by example.
I answer for their training, morale and discipline.
I must excel in everything i do.
I serve with pride, honour and integrity.
I will overcome adversity with courage, fortitude and determination.
I delicate my life to Singapore.

the whole creed is not applicable now since i am off service but there is these 2 lines which i think is still applicable now which is "i must excel in everything i do" and I will overcome adversity with courage, fortitude and determination" these 2 lines mean a lot to me especially when i feeling low or when i do feel a bit stress out. though it might be just a sentence to anyone else, but i believe it is something that really can push me on and bring me out of my blues.
just a little bit of crap here and why did i write it? cos i just finish my English exam today and it might be the last ever proper English lesson i will attend so i do hope that i will continue to improve despite the end of the lesson.
4 more papers. 10 more days. 3 months of fun awaits.
